FTU Happy New Year

This tutorial was written by me on Dec 26, 2012.
It was made out of my own creation and any similarity is purely coincidental.
I used pspx2 but any version should work without problems.
Let's get started!

Scrapkit: Big City New Year's by Angelaz Creationz

Template: 156 by me HERE

Mask: DBV mask 113 HERE

Plugins: eyecandy - gradient glow

Font: Waterbrush Rob

*open your mask and minimize in workspace*
*drop shadow of 1 -1 50 5 unless otherwise noted*

Open template, duplicate, close original
Canvas size 800x800, make background visible and flood fill w white
Open ele31, resize by 50% 2x, sharpen, c/p as new layer
Place to the left, duplicate, mirror, merge down
Open ele12, resize by 50%, sharpen, c/p as new layer
With eraser, get rid of the bottom stand
Go to layer 1, selections all, float, defloat, new layer
Open paper6, c/p into selection, deselect
Open ele43, c/p as new layer
Go to layer 2, open your tube close up, c/p as new layer
Place face inside of layer 2, change blend to luminance (L)
Click on layer2 with magic wand, selections, modify, select selections borders
Both sides, anti-atlas, border width 2
Go to tube layer, new layer, flood fill with light gray
Add noise, uniform, 100, add drop shadow of 1 -1 50 5
merge tube down to 2, merge border down to tube
Do the same thing with layer 3
Go to layer4, selections all, float, defloat, new layer
Open paper4, c/p as new layer, invert, delete, deselect
Open your half tube, c/p as new layer, place to left make sure face is inside rectangle
Duplicate, mirror, merge down
With your magic wand click on both rectangles on layer 4
On tube layer, invert, delete, invert, new layer
selections, modify, select selections borders
Both sides, anti-atlas, border width 2
flood fill with light gray
Add noise, uniform, 100, add drop shadow of 1 -1 50 5, deselect
Back to tube layer change blend mode to overlay
Go to layer 5, float, defloat, open paper13, c/p as new layer
invert, delete, deselect
Go to layer 8, merge down to 7, selections all, float, defloat
Open paper15, c/p as new layer, invert, delete, deselect
Open ele5, resize by 50% 4x, sharpen, c/ as new layer, place to left
Open ele6, resize by 50% 4x, sharpen, c/ as new layer, place to left
Open ele15, resize by 50% 2x, sharpen, c/ as new layer, place to right
Open ele25, rezize by 50% 2x, sharpen, c/p as new layer, place to left
Open ele28, resize by 50% 2x, then by 65%, sharpen, c/p as new layer
Plce to the right
Open your half tube, c/p as new layer
with your selection tool draw a rectangle around your tube
invert, delete, with eraser tool remove legs of tube until its aligned w layer 5
Go to layer 9, float, defloat, open paper14, c/p as new layer
invert, delete, deselect, effects, inner bevel w following settings
bevel2, width5, smoothness 2, depth 2, ambiance 2, shininess 2
angle 315, intensity 53, elevation 35, color white
Eyecandy - gradient glow, width 3, medium, black, hit ok
Add drop shadow of 2 -2 75 5 black
Close background layer, merge visible, open background
Crop your tag, then resize to 700px on the longest side
Click inside background layer w magic wand, new layer
Open paper12, c/p into selection, apply your mask
Layers - new mask layer - from image
find your mask in source window, hit ok, merge group
Delete background layer, add your credits and your name.
